White House Gates Restored By American Horticultural Society ...

The America the Beautiful theme garden at the 2005 Philadelphia Flower Show uses the White House gates. The American Horticultural Society has sponsored the historic gates restoration project. The gates installed on the America the Beautiful garden exhibit were installed at the White House in 1819, part of the reconstruction effort after the War of 1812. The gates graced the White House Pennsylvania Avenue entrance for 120 years. Last year, the American Horticultural Society had the White House gates restored in time for this year's Philadelphia Flower Show as the focal point for the entrance garden ... Posted by Hello
