Topiary Artist at Philadelphia Flower Show ...

Michelle Masters will show her topiary art at the Philadelphia Flower Show ...

... "Finger Lakes artist Michelle Masters to donate 10% of any product purchased at the 2006 Philadelphia Flower Show that features her latest watercolor topiary design, The Pineapple, to the Preservation Society of Newport County. The proceeds will be given directly to Green Animals, an historic topiary garden in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, owned and maintained by the PS of NC.

Michelle Masters Topiary Art is one of a distinguished group of artisans who contributes to the Newport Mansions Collections which helps the preservation society fulfill its mission of educating the public and preserving historic landmarks such as Green Animals. The elegant pineapple design is an interpretation of the living pineapple topiary at Green Animals and the preservation society’s logo. The design is a classic decorative motif symbolizing hospitality and is featured on fine linens, pillows and stationery.

Topiary, the meticulous trimming and training of plants to create living sculpture, is a natural source of inspiration for Masters, whose love of art and gardening originally produced a series of watercolor paintings of charming topiary hats. The unique designs employ a creative, often whimsical touch with artful attention to detail. Each watercolor design is a study in shape and form blending the classical art of topiary with a contemporary twist of humor and style. The topiary collections include: Garden Fashion, Hats, Cats, Country French, Birdhouses, For the Kids, Dogs & Rabbit, Horses, Seasonal and Monograms. " ...
