Michelle Masters Topiary Art is one of a distinguished group of artisans who contributes to the Newport Mansions Collections which helps the preservation society fulfill its mission of educating the public and preserving historic landmarks such as Green Animals. The elegant pineapple design is an interpretation of the living pineapple topiary at Green Animals and the preservation society’s logo. The design is a classic decorative motif symbolizing hospitality and is featured on fine linens, pillows and stationery.

Topiary, the meticulous trimming and training of plants to create living sculpture, is a natural source of inspiration for Masters, whose love of art and gardening originally produced a series of watercolor paintings of charming topiary hats. Michelle received and MFA in computer graphic design from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1993. Her fine art has been shown in state and national exhibitions. She works in watercolor, pastels and oils and her interests are represented by a range of subject matter including: the study of complex natural forms, landscapes, equine art, and of course- garden art.
